video games

Friends, I've spent the whole of today trying to install World Of Warcraft on my new computer- to absolutely no results, I've just reinstalled-uninstalled-reinstalled-uninstalled and got to the same point every time where the game just will not work. But! This has made me realise, I don't even want to play that game at all, I want to spend my time reading interesting books, watching interesting films and talking to interesting people! Not doing deadmines runs like we used to all those years ago!

I implore you, uninstall The Burning Crusade from your hard drive, never visit Ogrimmar again, let the Lich King live in peace!

FACEBOOOOOOOOOOOOK

Everybody's posting notes, and I want to do one!

the idea is to put your Itunes on shuffle and then play 25 songs, and write down your favourite line from each one, writing this down makes it seem ridiculous. (yet i am still about to do it)

1. we don't want your spin kicks, we just want a PUSH PIT!
2. we need to learn to defend oppression with our friends before they fade out
3. we'll show up in our outfits we planned ahead to meet the qualifications for our special occasion
4. i'm lost, so lost, i'm lost at sea you see
5. hey chief how's the karma struggle? is it hard to hold your bad breath
6. well i've been to texas state! i didn't think it was all that fucking great!
7. they got their mothers into a panic, sledding down hills into oncoming traffic
8. the back of your hand is a monument to that
9. time can change me but i can't change time
10. as i laid my cross down at the bones beneath my feet, she came, the face of a saint the voice of a symphony
11. no more time for hesitating, 'cos i did that too.
12. point your fucking finger, you racist, you bigot, that's not the problem now issit.
13. I'm so beyond you that it makes me grin
14. i've got no time to rest, i'm a mess
15. and do you think that it would be a shame, if i wished that we were back in school again
16. quit giving me your excuses, they mean nothing coming from your mouth
17. and you will never get the chance to do it all again, and you will never get the chance to call me your friend
18. just waiting for your time to speak, everyone's got an opinion
19. life is about love, last minutes and lost evenings, about fire in our bellys and about furtive little feelings
20. well that girl's a heartbreaker
21. we bought some wine and some paper cups, near your daughters school when we picked her up
22. oh heavy snow, bury me tonight, in the place where our bikes lay
23. i am a frontiersman trapped in suburban england
24. i am gonna make it through this year if it kills me
25. we live high, our love gorges on the alcohol we feed it

vital signs

It's hard to be under about 22 and like punk music without being a poser, I like to think I'll be sticking around forever but you never know. One thing's for sure though, at the moment I bloody love Turning Point.

On another note, I am knee deep in exams but raising funds for my European rail trip is paramount at the moment!

chilling

Now: Exmouth, Mystery Jets + Daria
Later: Drewy's life day celebrations

Well, technically Daria is at work and I'm sat here listening to Mystery Jets by myself, also, what the hell was life day all about? Did George Lucas just go mental and decide to ruin star wars?

ADVERT

Now, iPods are clearly cool. I love iPods, in fact I hope to god Charlie picked up a touch in NY so I can buy his old one of him. 30GB. yum. But anway I just saw this;

One of the original 'nano's was my first iPod, and they were shitty as hell, broke after about 5 weeks, no one had one these that the screen lasted longer than a few months, and if you did then I hate you. Anyway I just saw this picture and I thought what a crappy advertising campaign it is; 'iPod Nano, as big as a pencil... a small pencil... i mean, erm, one that has had some MAJOR sharpening, i mean, this shit has been way sharpened, but anyway, yeah... this shit is small.'

a diary post

Nothing major really happened, just a cool week. Got some work down for college, not as much as I would have liked but we can't have it all now can we. I worked monday evening in the kitchen which was okay because it was a slow night and we just got all the shit down that we needed to get done. Tuesday night was an awesome show, SSS, Fucked Up and Set Your Goals at the Lemon Grove. All opening up for some band called Gallows, being the cool dudes that we are we thought we would have a few drinks before, get real happy. It ended up Laurie, Marek, Jamie and I were all a bit too out there but we still had an awesome night. Team Ceremony.

Wednesday I was pretty much dead, A few dudes stayed over after the show and we all fucked off college for the day, after those guys had left I got to spend a whole day with Daria. It was a good day, after we went for a late lunch I lay down in bed and ended up napping until about 8:30, then I went to Drew's house for a spot of hanging-out.

Thursday night was pretty intense, but before we get into that I have to mention this week's comics. Now, I was real late with last weeks bag so I picked that up this week as well so I've only just managed to read 'The Immortal Iron Fist: Orson Randall and the Green Mist of Death' Fucking Rad Book. 4 awesome artists telling 1 awesome story. Pick it up! Thursday night was the birthday of a girl Josh used to date, Megan. She's a friend of Daria so I managed to get invited along to head out with those guys, it ended up being a crazy night. So much fun shit happened it was just one of those spontaneous nights that ends up being awesome.

Friday! My giiiirl stayed and we watched Ratatouille in front of a roaring fire. We both fell asleep. Still though, hanging out is what I do best so it was enjoyable for all.

What is good right now: AGENT, Cold World, Iron Fist, New Avengers, Daria, Fucked Up, Sleeping, Ratatouille, Whose Line Is It Anyway?

you stay classy, planet earth

ELECTRO

I'm not a huge one for electro, but I went to a Hot Chip show last night with some of my brothers from college, it was seriously good stuff, the amount of man-cardigans hurt my eyes like hell but the guys on stage fucking killed it. literally. The whole place was going fucking crazy it was such a good show.

Also, I've just got my hands on the new Foals LP Antidotes, I'm giving it a play now and it is seriously good shit. Kinda slow and you'd have to way be in the mood for it but it's full of awesome tunes. My pick would be Big Big Love (Fig. 2), complete with it's own fucking stupid Indie track name but it is a real real good song. I listened to it about 5 times before one of my Politics papers this January and it really set me up. Good listening, check it out

suh weet

Dark Horse is FINALLY putting out the NN2S book, this thing has been in the works for fucking years now and it is going to be sweet. I'm not the biggest Clem fan but still if you're into any form of punk music NN2S is a good read.

I'm spending tonight after work kicking back with video games and the get up kids
peace out

CAPTAINS! pt 2

Jesus I'm like Mr Blog-a-rama tonight. Anyway my good friend Josh gave me his 2 cents on the Captains debate:

"shit i wanna say Captain Britain, just to patriotic, but I haven't read a single thing, so that would be biased, I'm gonna say Cap America, as I'm a huge Avengers fan, and he is the leader, the idol, the inspiration of that team and you really feel it in the comics, and you almost feel like you look up to him yourself like all the characters do, so yeh, CAP!"

Nerd!

Also today,

Me, Laurie, Drew and Jamie hit the woods up today. We just wanted something to do for the day so we fucked college work and tore it up woodland style, me and Laurie found this amazing clearing in the trees that was essentially just a downhill gauntlet and ran it. I slaid twice. It was like a fucking Takeshi's Castle event or something it was crazy there were logs to jump and muddy ditches and shit, we want to get about thirty people running it and it'll be so so crazy. watch this space.

CAPTAINS

Hung out with some of Daria's friends the other night, Caitlin and Si, good people! Anyway we discussed Captain Planet and it made me think; 'who is the best captain?' Now, after some debate I have narrowed it down to 4 main contenders.

Number 1: Captain Planet
Now, obviously this would not make most people's shortlist of 'captains' but because he was the inspiration for the list he kinda has to be there. Pretty simple, hates global warming, loves mulletz. I have no idea where he came from or anything but remember that one of his rouge's gallery looked like a pig.

Number 2: Captain America

Well, he's dead I know, but we'll focus on classic Cap here. A real good guy. The leader of the Avengers and the Invaders for about a trillion years, and I'm pretty sure he must have fooled around with The Scarlet Witch, The Black Widow or Tigra sometime (or all of the above.) Loves freedom fries, Hates Nazis. His rogues gallery is freaking MODOK.

Number 3: Captain Marvel
An alien. A Dead Alien with Cancer. Still SO rad, literally look at this guy. Loves his wife, hates cancer. He was killed by Nitro.

Number 4: Captain Britain
Fucking means business with a flag on his chest. He takes names, has a cousin in the X Men, protects Mother Britannia and ends it all up with a cup of Earl Grey. Milky. Loves London, hates the French. I'm pretty sure I saw him take down the X Men once or something? Anyway, Captain Britain is RAD.

So anyway, I'll get to thinking and let you know who wins and why, let me know what you think.
